It is here and in my hands and so excellent-suspenseful box for suspense
The knob is from a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . There is an Abarth version, the 695 Rivale, however I really wanted this wooden knob. So here we are. I won’t be able to attempt putting it on until this evening. I’m not sure how the shift boot will work out as the NA OEM Abarth shifter is a long leather wrapped thing.
You may have noticed that it appears to be missing something like threads so that it will mount properly. Good news, it doesn’t need threads! It is bolted to the shaft in the most ridiculous method of mounting a shifter I have seen to date.
Here is an example of the stick without anything on it to help this make sense:

The good news is you will never forget the shift pattern. Redundancy!

Or unfort unately, should some tragedy befall the top of the knob.
I would love a wood knob on my daily. My father turned one on a lathe that I installed in my pickup and it has a really nice feel.

Very nice.
This guy makes the shift knobs that they put in some of the Singer Porsches. I’ve got one of his “seconds” sitting on my desk at work. =)
